Student Governor Residential Training Programme

Working in partnership, Unloc and the Association of Colleges will support, train and empower student governors in the UK to be effective young changemakers and policy influencers.
A two day, subsidised immersive residential training programme on the 18-19 November at the ICC, Birmingham. This will bring together student governors from across the UK to:
develop the leadership skills and competencies of participants so they are effective in their roles
attend a series of workshops that will focus on the key skills and practical knowledge for governance
meet with clerks and college Principals
network and share best practice
attend day one (19 November) of the AoC Annual Conference and Exhibition 2019
This is a unique opportunity to raise the profile of student governors at the biggest event in further education and equip them with practical skills and knowledge to deliver positive change and influence at their college. Full details and timings will be shared in due course.
The programme is heavily subsidised through The Blagrave Trust. The cost to the college will be to cover travel to and from Birmingham and a contribute £90 towards one night’s accommodation for your participant.
Local hotel accommodation has already been booked and a room will be allocated closer to the event date.
